Bourchier & Scurrers complete

Well, this incessant rain has kept us all painting away, so at least there's plenty of colour to be had somewhere !

Here we have the last scurrer complete and his group for reference, 8 in total, the maximum the army list allows though I might add one more banner at some point.

A few additions were made to this figure to transform him, namely sculpted boots and a moustache along with a shield from the mercenaries boxed set.

Next up is the completed base of Henry Berners, Lord Bourchier - 2nd Earl of Essex.

For referenece you can see the progress, conversion work and historical background to Lord Bourchier in the last few blog posts. This week has seen me working upon his standard bearer and standard, the latter took the longest but a pleasing result - I really can't get enough of these swallow tailed standards, they're a joy to put together.

I first paint the standard to completion leaving the fringes in their base colour as shown here;

I then attach the flag, carefully trim off any rough edges and highlight the fringes on the model;

I also tried to create a bit of dialogue between the figures to maximise upon the movement already in the plastic horses. Note also the moustache on the standard bearer.

Onward to the next nobleman (and standard) !
