Right, this blog is back on track !
Here we have the latest few bases of Tudor longbowmen, essentially rank and file to get the numbers / proportions right and to ensure that there is a good scattering of the Tudor heads amongst the total force of bowmen. They've worked really well, with a bit of patience and trial and error you can really get some expressive poses.
There are a couple of minor conversions amongst these; I have tried my best at a casualty figure and also clothed him with a bend over his brigandine for identification. One of the bowmen also has his archers sallet hanging from his belt.
Aside from a few more bases with standards the infantry are now almost complete, note the 2:1 proportion of bill and pike to bow.
All the best.

Dammit, I forgot to include landsknecht arquebusiers in the group shot! you'll just have to imagine them, somewhere behind the trees in a pay dispute!

ReplyDeleteDo you intend to play games with your miniatures?

Fantastic Stuart! Love the bow unit and the force as a whole. Now where is the captain to sort out those mercenaries?

The images are easier to look at and zoom in on, damn gremlins.
ReplyDeleteRaglan, I do game from time to time with these but not that often, they're becoming rather dear to me !
I can understand why their becoming dear to you Stuart. They are turning out very fine indeed. Whats planned next?

ReplyDeleteA very impressive sight - lovely work. It's great how the Tudor head changes do take the figures convincingly into the next century... plus your lovely paintwork and period banners of course.
Looking forward to seeing more (as ever).
Simon.

ReplyDeleteLovely as always Stuart and worth the wait!
I will have to get some of the Tudor heads for mine!
